Pit Events
Friday, August 7th- Sunday, August 9th
The Pit Events held at the Baraga County Fair are a main attraction for many of our fairgoers. This year we have expanded our automotive line-up and are featuring three events for the community to enjoy:

Tough Truck:Â New this year, on Friday night, trucks will maneuver through a complex course of obstacles. The truck with the fastest time is the winner!

Mud Bog:Â On Saturday, a variety of vehicles will attempt to cross our pit's mud bog. Winners are determined by distance, or time, depending on whether they have successfully crossed the bog!
​
Off Road Derby:Â A succession of oval races will be run on Sunday, only the fastest cars survive for another round. They will be showcased in a final feature heat to determine the derby winners!

Participants must provide ID & waiver before entering the pits.

Paint a Derby Car
Saturday, August 8th
A fun, new Pit tradition was started in 2025! Some of our local derby drivers have graciously agreed to allow fairgoers to add some flair to their ride before taking them out for Sunday's Off-Road Derby. As some of our Pit Committee members have noted, "What kid doesn't want to "vandalize" a car with some paint?!" Derby cars will be stationed just outside the Pits on Saturday afternoon. Stop by to add some custom artwork, then come back Sunday to see everyone's handiwork displayed on the racetrack!
