Horse Show

The Horse Shows held during fair weekend are organized by the

Freedom Reins Horse Club, a local nonprofit that conducts horse shows and other equine events in the Western Upper Peninsula. They promote sportsmanship, healthy competition, and education as a way to challenge their members and participants to strive to do their best and continue to progress in horsemanship.

The Baraga County Fair Horse Shows exhibit the relationship that the rider has built with their horse, and the dedication and mastery needed to perform the various skills required in each class. Participants are also judged on specific criteria surrounding their overall handling and presentation of their horse, as well as showmanship.
