Our Mission:
The Baraga County Fair’s purpose is to promote and advance the interest of agriculture, horticulture, animal handling, household arts, mechanical arts and sciences, and all kindred sciences and arts in their varied branches; to promote and conduct agricultural, educational, industrial, cultural, and recreational fairs and exhibitions, and to provide entertainment and amusement therewith for the purpose of drawing the attention of the public thereto.
More Than Just a Weekend:
Why Our 501(c)(3) Status Matters:
At the heart of the Baraga County Fair, our mission is to cultivate the future. Whether it’s through the precision of the mechanical arts, the dedication of animal handling, or the heritage found in household sciences, we are committed to advancing the skills and traditions that define our community.
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, our status is a reflection of our commitment to the public good.
Here is why that matters for Baraga County:
• Investing in Education: Every dollar we receive is reinvested into our educational exhibits, youth programs, and agricultural demonstrations. We aren't here for profit; we're here to provide a classroom without walls.
• Preserving Our Heritage: Your support helps us protect and promote "kindred sciences and arts"—ensuring that the skills of our ancestors aren't lost to time, but instead passed down to the next generation.
• Community-Powered Growth: Because we are a federally recognized nonprofit, your donations are tax-deductible. This allows local businesses and individuals to partner with us directly in building a stronger, more vibrant Baraga County.
• Accessible Culture: Our status ensures that we can continue to provide high-quality entertainment and industrial exhibitions that remain accessible to all families in our region.
When you support the Baraga County Fair, you aren't just buying a ticket to an event—you are investing in the agricultural, cultural, and recreational heartbeat of our community.
Join the Heart of the Fair: Volunteer!
The Baraga County Fair is built on community spirit, and we need your help to make the magic happen! Whether it's helping out at the carnival, assisting with event registration, or keeping the grounds looking great, there’s a spot for everyone. It’s a fantastic way to give back, meet your neighbors, and get a behind-the-scenes look at our favorite summer tradition.
